meet the team:

So, here we are.  This is us, thegreenlaneguide.co.uk team in our full glory.  It takes a special person to be in thegreenlaneguide.co.uk team, you have to be an off-road junky, willing to get covered in mud, spend hours poking round your vehicle (OK, so that's a majority of Land Rover owners!!) and you have to be somewhat overweight (that wasn't a special rule, it's one that just can be applied to most of us!!).  So far these are the only 'full time' members of thegreenlaneguide.co.uk team but we're always taking new people out and maybe we'll get more people want to join us.  Who knows??

Dick.  aka: Fat B'stard.

Been a Land Rover nut (putting it politely!) for quite a few years now, longer than the others - that's for sure, and has spent more time under his 'fleet' of Solihull products than most of us have spent at a dinner table.  Definitely the 'daddy' of the team and it certainly shows with his wealth of experience / knowledge.  Not content with owning just one vehicle, owns more than 1 but less than 10 (we think!).  If there's something to be done then he's there, if it needs recovering then he's at the front of the queue already attaching the rope, if it needs getting stuck then he's already stuck.  You get the idea.  All round good guy and knows some good routes too.

Phil aka: not as fat as 'Fat bstard'...!

Not been on the scene as long as Dick but been around long enough to know how (not??) to drive.  Doesn't spend as much time under the Land Rovers as others but then that's reflected in the fact that his Land Rover isn't working as often as the others!!  (it's off the road at the moment!!).  Wants a defender but can't afford it.  Wants to fix his Series III but can't be bothered.  Needed to fix his Range Rover but sold it to Dick.  Needs to get 'his finger out'...!  Always up for getting muddy, even if it's unnecessary, not afraid to tackle the impossible and does love getting motors stuck in DEEP water.

Mark aka: mini-me.

Got some years behind him, this one, in the off-roading arena.  Doesn't get out much more these days and certainly needs to address that issue.  Too busy drinking or drinking or drinking.  Can mainly be found in any 'public house' that sells Stella Artois.  Has made journeys to Wales and performed some great 'getting stuck maneuvers' as well as some great recovery maneuvers and not forgetting the great drinking maneuvers (his personal favourite).  Another valuable member of the team who doesn't mind getting stuck in and certainly brings good, practical knowledge to the team but definitely needs to 'get out and play' more.

Andre aka: Gummy bear.

Still contemplating a purchase of his first real Land Rover (a Series). His first trip to Wales in his 300TDI Discovery has wetted his appetite for more, so who knows what the future holds. He's spent the last year rebuilding the 300TDI engine hopefully to be finished soon!

Jamie aka: Guitar man.

The latest member of the team who recently purchased an 88" Series IIA which he has been restoring and converting from a pickup to a staion wagon. He's yet to take it off road but at least its passed its MOT!
